Southern Raised at Sight and Sound

Southern Raised on “a cloud!”

This past weekend found Southern Raised at the CAM Gospel Band Competition, which is held at the Sight and Sound Theater in Branson, MO!  We were very blessed and honored to have won the 2011 CAM  Competition last year and they asked us to return this year as guest performers.  We had a wonderful time and I love the Sight and Sound Theater!!!  I think I said that before!!:)  They have an amazing technical crew that provides out of this world sound, lights and yes!!!……even fog!!!!  I felt like I was in the clouds somewhere!!!  I looked down at one point, just to see if I could see my feet!……..and for those wondering:)…..yes, barely!  It was an incredible sensation!  White fog whirling around  as we sang “Scarlet Cord”!!!  Keep an eye out for video footage of this!  Sarah is working on that now!

A look from on high!

The lighting is correlated with the style and mood of your song……so:)…….the style of these lights above would be a fast one!:)  The technical crew does a superb job.  We were getting on the elevator and heading up to the break room after the show when the elevator doors opened.  The gentleman that stepped off asked “Did you like the fog effects??!!!”  He was obviously the “fog guy:)”  We told him we loved it!  I decided that daddy needs to be our “fog man” and take a fog machine everywhere!!!!hahaha…….dream on…….:)

I am grateful that we were able to be a small part of what CAM is and what they do for the community.  CAM provides food and other supplies for needy families in Taney County MO.  They have a wonderful outreach and we were able to hear stories of lives they have touched.  Sight and Sound very generously donated their theater and entire technical staff free of charge for this occasion!  What an amazing contribution!

I spy Southern Raised way down yonder!!!!:)

We were grateful to have both sets of grandparents with us!  Our Nonny and Pappy and MawMaw and PawPaw are some of our biggest fans and greatest supporters!  We love y’all!

Bluegrass Moment

I hope y’all have enjoyed all these pics!  If you live near a Sight and Sound Theater, I encourage you to go support their ministry.  Each show I have been to has a clear and concise presentation of the gospel.  They have an amazing outreach!

Black and White Bluegrass:)

Playing at such a venue is what I would call a dream opportunity.  We thank the the Lord for every path and winding road He has led us down all across this great United States of America.  Every door He has opened, He has been faithful to lead us through the way.

When we leave North Carolina we will be heading right to the panhandle of Texas in a town called Perryton.  Southern Raised will travel through about 10 states over this trip!! Oh my!  So please keep up to date and come out and see us at one of these venues.  Please come see us at booth #961 at the National Quartet Convention!!!
