Southern Raised and the Rochesters at Calvary Baptist Revival

Southern Raised and Mr. and Mrs. Rochester

Wow!!!  It has been a LONG time since I have blogged!!!….I now y’all are all wondering if I fell off the earth or something!:)  It has been a very busy start to a wonderful new year and I will try and tell y’all all about it throughout the next few posts.  In mid February, Southern Raised had the blessing of being a part of the Calvary Baptist Mid-Winter Revival in Eufala, Oklahoma.  What a tremendous blessing this was to each of us….Pastor McDonald and his entire family and church family were just incredible testimonies of our Lord Jesus and certainly allowed God to use them to bless us immensely!!!  We also had the privilege of meeting the Rochesters….WOW!  What an honor and what incredible musicians!  They were so kind and visiting with them was a highlight!:)  After the service Wednesday night, we got to visit and little Morgan(from the Rochesters) asked if we could autograph her guitar…here are some pics of us and Morgan…she was such a sweet little girl and quite the voice!:)

The first time we stepped up to play…the incredible happened!!!….My bass basically exploded on the first song!!…..the bridge flew off and the sound post fell!!!!…..we continued and finished the song(without a bass:)…but then Ben Rochester, very kindly stepped up and played their electric bass guitar with us!..What a blessing he was!  He was willing to step in and play songs he was not familiar with  and did an outstanding job!!!…I think he kept hoping we would play “I’ll Fly Away!!”:)..Thanks again Ben!:)…..here is a pic of us after the first set evaluating the damage!!!..:)

Bass Surgery:)....it recovered well!:)

We heard so much wonderful preaching while there….it was awesome!  We were very honored to meet Dr. David Gibbs Jr. of CLA….what a privilege!!!…

Southern Raised with Dr. Gibbs, Pastor McDonald and our Mom

Dr. Gibbs gave each of us a book as a gift….he gave Matthew one written by him and each of us girls one that was written by his wife…..he was so gracious and kind.

Dr. Gibbs signing our books for us

Dr. Gibbs preached a wonderful message on staying behind the shield of God and allowing Him to protect us there and warned of the dangers when we step out on our own, or react in a way that takes us from the safety of that shield.  The verse in Psalms speaks of God being Our Glory, Our Shield, and the Lifter Up of Our Head.  Very good reminder and so convicting.  We certainly are so grateful that we were able to be a part of this revival!  Big thank you once again to Pastor McDonald and all of the Calvary Baptist Church Family!!!!  God bless each of you richly!!!…….For my Savior,Lindsay
