Southern Raised and Duggars in Concert

I know!!:)…..It is way time for a new post!!!:)  Well, here is the latest with Southern Raised……we just returned from a combined trip to Arkansas and then to Oklahoma.  This post includes pics and details from our time in Arkansas.  Our good friends, the Duggars, were also in concert and we got to catch up with some great, fun fellowship!!  This was a benefit for Meals on Wheels and apparently the event was a huge success for them, it was a sold out show.  Sadly they had to turn some people away, but it was an energetic, action packed evening with a very lively crowd………………..

Southern Raised and part of the Duggar Family!:)

What a great evening this was!..We think so much of our dear friends, the Duggar Family!  Many of you know them from  the very popular TLC television show “19 Kids and Counting!”  They have touched and impacted scores of people all over the world with their testimony.  If you are with them for any time at all, you can quickly see the heart for ministry and outreach that beats within each of them. Matter of fact, the day before this event, part of the family had just arrived home from a mission trip to El Salvador.  They are always reaching outwards and I know they have made an eternal impact on countless numbers. We are blessed and honored to call them friends.  Our friendship goes way back to when we lived in Arkansas.  I was probably 12 or so when we first met and became friends.  We attended church together and had fellowship through gatherings and home school outings.  Thank you Duggar Family for being such an encouragement and blessing to so many!!!  We love y’all!    ……………………………………………

Southern Raised and our good friend Mr. Lane, musician and maker of fiddles……

We were so glad to see Mr. Lane and his sweet wife at this event!  It had been a long time since we had seen them……..  He is such a kind man and it was so good to see him!

Lindsay, Sarah and Emily with a dear, sweet friend, Sara Doyle

This was certainly a night of seeing friends and great fellowship!!!…..We also were so excited to see our good friends the Doyles…their friendship has been so precious to us…  This dear family was used by God tremendously this last September….We had serious car trouble that was about to put a halt on touring.  This family loaned us their truck so we could make our trips!!  We literally drove their truck from North Carolina to Texas and many places in between!!!  Such a tremendous act of love and kindness, we are still overwhelmed by it to this day.  They have been an incredible encouragement to us in our ministry and God has used them to bless us in more ways than I could recount.  We love you Doyle Family!!!

Emily and Jackson Duggar

I looked over and saw Jackson visiting with Emily and had to snap a pic…….he looked so sharp in his outfit

More fellowship:)………………………

…………………………………………………………………….A night like this one reminds me again what a gift friends and good fellowship are!  It is truly something God gave us to encourage, uplift and share with one another.  Friends should never be taken for granted………..so take a moment and thank God for friends in your life.  Count your blessings, they are treasures to be cherished!!!.  I think about the friends who have blessed us and how we must always aspire to reach out more and more and touch more lives……  I would like to close with this thought on serving and ministry from the Duggars book, “A Love that Multiplies.”….

”  Of all the things we want to teach our children, the two most important are 1. to love God and 2. to love others.  We work hard to instill in our children a ministry mind-set and a heart for others, and we try to give them  lots of opportunities to put that mind-set into action.  Otherwise, it’s like teaching the children about fishing but never going fishing.  In contrast, when they “put feet to their dreams,” when they go out and actually minister to others, it opens up a wonderful world of servanthood to them.”

Thank you Duggars, Doyles and Mr. Drake and all those with Meals on Wheels for “putting feet to your dreams” for reaching out and  reminding us we can do it everyday with the people God brings across our path.  May we reach out and be a friend and a blessing………Until Next Time, Lindsay
