Merry Christmas from Southern Raised!

Merry Christmas from Southern Raised!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!  Wow!  I cannot believe that today is Christmas!  What a blessed day to reflect on our Precious Saviour’s birth into this world of sinful mortals.  We played at a Christmas Eve service last night and I began to think …..that same zeal and intense excitement that must have throbbed within the lowly shepherds chest, I do want that same zeal to be rekindled in my heart this next year.   The zeal that sent them into the world proclaiming “good tidings of great joy!”  You know…..those “good tidings of great joy” are still alive and present today….just as real as it was then.  We have the same story they did!!!!….Except, we have the whole entire story to tell the world!!!!!  From His lowly birth, His agonizing death and His triumphant resurrection!!!  What a story of ” good tidings of great joy!!!”  May we all be challenged to tell the world this story in 2013 like never before!!!

This year has flown by……it seems like yesterday we were starting our tours around the country for 2012 and now 2013 is almost here and hopefully seeing some of y’all ( our dear friends and fans) around the country as well!!!:)  I wanted to wish each of y’all a very Merry Christmas and share some pics from our lives during this time of the year:)……..I hope y’all enjoy!………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I hope this day is full of sweet time, memories and blessings for each of you!  May we all let our minds and hearts be focused on our Saviour……” Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”- Philippians 2:6-8

One thought to leave you with from Pastor Adrian Rogers. ~”During this time of year, it may be easy to forget that the bigger purpose behind Bethlehem was Calvary. But the purpose of the manger was realized in the horrors of the cross. The purpose of his birth was his death.
Or to put it more personally: Christmas is necessary because I am a sinner. The incarnation reminds us of our desperate condition before a holy God. Don’t get me wrong–Christmas should be a wonderful celebration. Properly understood, the message of Christmas confronts before it comforts, it disturbs before it delights.
The purpose of Christ’s birth was to live a sinless life, suffer as our substitute on the cross, satisfy the wrath of God, defeat death, and secure our forgiveness and salvation.
Christmas is about God the Father (the offended party) taking the initiative to send his only begotten son to offer his life as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, so that we might be forgiven for our many sins.”~

But before that crucial moment in history, where He gave Himself as our Saviour…….He first came and gave Himself to mankind in the lowest of births.  Came in a manger……………..Immortal came down to Mortals and changed the world…and our lives forever……………………………………………….Merry Christmas!…..and thank you Jesus for coming , loving and saving a soul like me!………Lindsay

Merry Christmas!
